What this site covers

Renewal requirements for backflow prevention assembly tester certifications in the United States: which agency regulates the credential, how often it must be renewed, what continuing education is required, and what the renewal costs.

How data is collected

• Each state page is built from the official source: the state agency website, its administrative code, or its designated training provider.
• Every state page shows a last-verified date and links to the official source.
• When an agency does not publish a figure (some fees and CE requirements are only distributed with application paperwork), the page says "not published" rather than estimating.
• In states where certification is handled at the local level (city, county, or water purveyor), the page says so explicitly: in those states there is no single statewide answer.

What this site is not

This is an independent reference site. It is not affiliated with any state agency or with any certification body (ABPA, ASSE, AWWA), and it does not sell training. Requirements change: always confirm with your state or local authority before scheduling a renewal.
